ERIN BROUSSEAU

IMG_1240_edited.jpg

Erin Brousseau is an illustrator and fine artist originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota. A graduate of Syracuse University, she has since called some of America's most striking landscapes home—from the remote wilderness of McCarthy, Alaska, to the fishing town of Ketchikan, and the mountain valleys of Ketchum, Idaho. These places, marked by rugged beauty and a certain wildness, have left an indelible imprint on her artistic vision.

Working primarily in pencil, charcoal, and ink on paper, Erin's portfolio bridges two distinct worlds. Her architectural drawings capture homes with meticulous, almost reverent detail—every shingle, window pane, and overgrown shrub rendered with patient precision. These commissioned house portraits transform ordinary dwellings into intimate records of place and memory, celebrating the structures where lives unfold.

Her whimsical illustrations reveal another dimension entirely. Here, wild-haired girls ride wolves through shadowy forests, figures sprawl dramatically across furniture in states of delightful collapse, and abandoned trucks sink slowly into the undergrowth, reclaimed by nature. These pieces carry the spirit of folklore and daydream, balancing delicate linework with bold, expressive energy.

Whether documenting the familiar geometry of a family home or conjuring scenes from some half-remembered fairy tale, Erin's work shares a common thread: a deep attention to texture, atmosphere, and the quiet poetry of overlooked moments. Her black-and-white palette strips away distraction, inviting viewers to linger in the details.
